Portable Massage Tables

A massage sounds good right about now...that is how I feel once I spend all day working at my computer. Massage is a great way to relax and relieve stress but can also be a form of therapy for strained, tired muscles. In today's economy a lot of people who used to go to a spa for a massage are looking at buying their own portable massage tables. I did some checking and was amazed at not only how many choices there were but also how affordable lightweight portable massage tables had become.

If you are a massage therapist you may know about all the choices available and what features to look for but....if you are just someone looking at adding a portable massage table  to your home, you may need a little background information before making your purchase. So I took the liberty at researching a few brands so I could determine which one I would add to my Christmas Wish List (my husband doesn't know it yet}.

English Mastiff Secrets

Step-by-Step Dog Training To Make An English Mastiff An Obedient Dog  EnglishMastiff.TrainPetDog.com
If you are planning to own a dog at your home, then you should be aware of various dog breeds, so that you can get a dog that suits to your requirements. There are more than hundreds of dog breeds and each breed is different in the aspect of nutrition, grooming and exercising requirements. English Mastiff belongs to the giant breed of dogs. Apart from English Mastiff, there are other types of Mastiffs such as Brazilian MastiffArgentinian Mastiff, and Tibetan Mastiff

Nutrition

English Mastiff puppies are giant breed puppies, which require unique care. Nutrition plays an important role in the growth and development of an English Mastiff dog. When you talk about nutrition keep in mind the quality and the quantity of food you feed your Mastiff puppy.

Vaccination

When the puppies become around sixteen weeks of age, they lose the immunity against various diseases that they receive from their mother’s milk. Hence, it is very important to take the puppy to the vet for vaccination shots.

Exercise Regularly

It is necessary to exercise your English Mastiff puppy regularly. However, do not overdo it. Exercises would help the puppy to develop muscle tissue that supports the strong and heavy bones. You can take the puppy out for a walk everyday. It would establish a bond between the puppy and you. Throw a stick or a ball and ask the puppy to fetch it to you. Do not allow the puppy to jog or jump over the hurdle, until it becomes an adult.

Training

As puppies, an English Mastiff is playful, but as they become an adult, it can easily overpower its owner. To avoid this, proper training has to be given when it is a puppy. The basic obedience commands should be taught to a Mastiff puppy. An untrained English Mastiff will become unmanageable and would display destructive behavior when it becomes an adult. If you cannot train the pup, enroll it in a training class.

Socializing

As a pup, expose the English Mastiff to children and other family members. You should also expose the Mastiff pup to various objects, scents and noises. Do not allow your Mastiff to play with other puppies or dogs, until it is given the vaccination shots.

Things to Avoid Doing

  • Never ever hit or scare your Mastiff puppy.
  • Do not allow the puppy to play with stray dogs or other dogs till they are vaccinated.
  • Never discourage the puppy from experimenting with new things or socializing.
  • Stop them from becoming very friendly with outsiders
  • Tying up your Mastiff puppy can make it aggressive. So avoid doing it.
  • Do not over feed a Mastiff puppy. Avoid treating this breed to chocolate or caffeine products.
Encourage Submission

To an extent, you should encourage submission. The reason is, if you have take it to a vet for a vaccination or for any other ailments, your pet should allow to be examined. You could teach it certain command words such as "settle", "lay still" and so on. This training would be helpful at the time of nail trimming and grooming.

Where to ride your bike in and around Chattanooga

Road riding

If you are bringing your bike to this amazing riding area, the Chattanooga Bike Club has all kinds of great rides and routes on their site, and they are a great resource.

But here are a few of my favorite rides in and around Chattanooga:

Running or hiking in Chattanooga

There are plenty of choices to run/hike/walk in and around Chattanooga but here are 3 very nice choices.

Downtown Chattanooga Riverwalk

The Chattanooga Riverwalk runs along the Tennessee River from downtown all the way to the Chickamauga Dam near Highway 153. It is great for runners and walkers of every fitness level, and while bikes can be there too, runners and walkers do have the right of way. It is an almost ideal place for people with jog strollers. Total length about 9 miles.

Directions:
Easily reachable on foot from downtown hotels. Can be started right behind the Aquarium or right at the sculture garden in the Bluffview Art District. If you drive there, park near the 200 block of High Street.

Lookout Mountain Guild-Hardy Trail

The Lookout Mountain Guild-Hardy Trail is a walking and biking trail located on the side of scenic Lookout Mountain and provides access to a multitude of trails on Lookout Mountain, the National Park Service land and Reflection Riding. The GH Trail winds through forested mountain slopes littered with historical ruins, Ruby Falls, and the Cravens House.

Directions: From Downtown Chattanooga, take I-24 to Lookout Mountain/Broad Street exit. Take Broad Street to Tennessee Avenue and make a right turn onto Ochs Highway after The Incline. The Ochs Highway trailhead parking lot will be on the left.

______________________________________________

Walk or run the Bridges

Fom any of the downtown hotels it is quite easy to do a nice walk or short run of the downtown bridges. Go up either 1st Street or 2nd Street until you hit Walnut Street, turn left and go across the stunning pedestrian Walnut Street bridge. Turn right onto Frazier Ave until you get to the Veterans Bridge and then turn right on it. Veterans Bridge eventually turns into Georgia Ave and you'll stay on it ontil you get to 4th Street. Turn right on 4th and you'll get back downtown.

Fedora Gangster Hats

Gangster Hats are back in style and as elegant as ever. Is it because of all the famous celebrities wearing gangster hats? I think this has played a very large part in the resurrection of the gangster hats.

Fedora hats were unveiled in the late 1800's and worn by the high society depicting a sign of wealth. Then around the 1940 cinema era, fantastic Fedora hats were worn by movies most well recognized detectives and gangsters. Which then made them to just be credited as the Gangster Hat. One of the most popular gangster hat wearing stars was the legendary Humphrey Bogart. But now there are endless celebritiesboth men and women showing off in this once again popular gangster hat. For instance, stars like Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Ving Rhames, Angelina Jolie and one of the fashionable new celebrities wearing a Fedora Gangster Hats is Matt Bomer or better known as Neal Caffrey from the hit show White Collar .

Vintage Christmas Tree Decorations

Antique Christmas ornaments at Christmas4ever.com

Last years interest to Russian Christmas ornaments is continuously increasing and a lot of collectors have them in collections. But still Russian Christmas tree ornaments are not known enough to collectors.
Our mission is to provide our customers with all kind of Russian Christmas collectibles, starting from ancient decorations of XIX century and finishing by soviet vintage Christmas ornaments of 1940-1960.
As Germany was the main trading partner of Russia and Soviet Union till WWII we have some antique German ornaments as well.

Following our mission, we are offering not only antique Christmas ornaments but also Santa figures, flags for Christmas trees, candy containers, Christmas tree lights, toys and dolls. In our shop you will find rare and beautiful Russian and German Christmas ornaments made of glass, cotton and Dresden cardboard ornaments.
All of our ornaments are hand made or hand blown, and all of them were hand painted.

Dealing with Vintage Christmas ornaments we try not only to sell them, but to gather all pieces of histories regarding them.
About 90% of Christmas tree ornaments before revolution of 1917 were importing to Russia from other countries, mainly from Germany. Only 10% of assortment was produced by local masters. The decorations were approximately the same as in the Western Europe: there were hand made ornaments made of glass and cotton, of pressed cardboard and paper mashe, candy containers of different kinds, gilded nuts and cones, etc. In the soviet time appeared a lot of unusual propaganda Christmas ornaments, but still a lot of them continuing traditions of pre-revolutionary period.
We prepared illustrated materials about history of Russian antique Christmas ornaments, about the Russian cotton ornaments and translated a manual "How to arrange a celebration of the New Year" issued at 1936.

We love to seek vintage Christmas tree ornaments and to offer them to our customers. Old Christmas collectibles keep memory of the past and give the feeling of time.
We buy and sell only those Christmas collectibles, toys and dolls that we would like to see on our own Christmas tree and we want our buyers to be happy with their purchases and come back for more! We believe antique and vintage Christmas ornaments can not be compared with modern day items and that you will get real value for money.

All of our vintage Christmas tree decorations are 100% original and not a reproductions!
